Chawton House Library
The breathtaking Chawton House and Chawton Estate was once owned by Jane Austen’s brother, Edward, who four years after the death of his father, was able to offer a cottage in the village of Chawton to his mother and sisters, Cassandra and Jane. Situated just outside Alton in Hampshire, it is a stunning location for summer weddings.
The beautiful English country village, along with the spectacular parkland grazed by sheep, cattle and majestic shire horses present a rural tranquility. The picturesque setting and its unique historical and literary links make Chawton House a real treat for weddings and wedding receptions.
Only five marquee weddings a year are held at Chawton House which ensures that it is a truly exclusive location.
