A “Kalm” wedding
Back in May we had the absolute pleasure of working on Katie and Jim’s wedding in Hampshire. The whole event was particularly special thanks to the couple getting married at the Bride’s family home. As the garden there was in full bloom with stunning flowers, they wanted to incorporate the garden in to the marquee. Requests like this are great challenges for our AM team but as the mother of Bride said: “Oli and John I take my hat off to your guys – I don’t think one tulip got beheaded in the process of putting the marquee up or taking it down, and other than a few dainty footprints in the flower beds, we’d never know you’d been. Thank you so much for making it possible!”
We have always been lucky enough to work with fantastic catering companies and this time was no exception as we were working with the faultless “Kalm Kitchen”; a young, energetic company based across the south of England, headed up by Jen and James Middlehurst who pride themselves on the presentation and quality of their locally sourced ingredients. It is great to see a team who obviously not only work so well together but also interact with the wedding party and guests with such professionalism. As the guests sipped on cocktails and champagne, they were served mouth-watering canapés such as peanut chicken in filo tarts, Cornish potted crab on Melba toast with lemon and rocket pesto and aubergine & pine nut fritters. The food consisted of a seasonal asparagus starter, a main course of marinated lamb cutlets with sautéed baby new potatoes, fine French beans, caponata and salsa verde. The icing on the cake (so to speak) was when guests were wowed with cake stands of mini desserts which looked absolutely incredible and tasted delicious too.
When we spoke to Kalm Kitchen they said they had really enjoyed doing this wedding and that the “outside in” theme really added to the already amazing atmosphere. We are very much looking forward to working with Kalm Kitchen again! For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org or call them on 01483 813360
